A train full of prunes.

Today was Isaac's first day of 8th grade. When I introduced our artist for this term and ask on a scale of 1-10 what he thought of her work, he told me a train full of prunes! Nut!!!

What happened??

Well, here's the Readers' Digest version....
Thursday evening [July5th], we had a terrible storm of winds come through. We had just finished dinner and were out in the garage trying out a new grain mill. We purchased a manual one... just in case we were ever without power!

Eddie realized the storm was coming from the North- which always means bad news. We quickly began to put things away and get things indoors... like the golf cart. The kids were of course scared. The wind was horrible!

By the time we got indoors we had already lost electricity. Friday we took a trip to Knoxville with Eddie to get his iPhone repaired and hung out at the mall. Still no electricity.
So I called the Comfort Inn and got us a room. At 9:00 PM our house was 95 degrees.
The kids felt like we were on a vacation! Thankfully, we had electricity again on Saturday.

Passed these trucks on our way home from Knoxville Friday evening. Wondered if they were on their way to help.

Civilizations

Wow! I don't think I could ever learn to play this game! I got it for Isaac for Passover this year.

Swimmers

How proud they were of their swimsuits... Especially Rachel. Must be a girl thing!

Grocery shopping

Just seems like yesterday that Jonathan was in the cart and Rachel was in the bjorn!

Gardening week?

How did I loose count of our gardening weeks? Coming along so nicely!

Installing Our New Toy

I have looked at Slack Lines online for eons now. While at the Chattanooga Curriculum Fair, I decided to go for it and invest in one. That stinkin thing is hard! But fun too!
