Mark the Calendar

So many times I have good intentions. But if I do not get events, ideas, lists, etc. into my planner they jsut never happen. We sure were glad that Ms. Judy gave us a date for dinner! What a nice evening we had their house. And I know my guys were thrilled to have grilled meat with homemade mac n' cheese instead of scrambled eggs... again!

First Week of School

Isaac and I started our school schedule this week. I had no idea what to expect with a new little "participant." It went much better than I expected. We were both very excited to get back into our routine, open new books, and even start a new subject or two. We picked up where we left off in Botany last spring by conducting a "failed" experiment... but we had fun trying!

Date Night

While Isaac was away at camp this week, Eddie and I had an official date... our first since you know who came along. Laiel stayed with Jonathan while we had dinner at our old hangout- Jenkins. Then we ended up where all old married couples go on dates... Lowes.

I Survived Camp!

I survived Isaac's week at camp! I knew I would miss him... but boy, did I miss him! With Eddie's help, I contained myself and did not embarrass him when we arrived at Willow Falls.

He had a good week except for the fact he got huge blood blisters on his feet at the start of the week. Eddie & I were curious to why he was limping. We were shocked when he showed us what bad shape his feet were. This is the first time I've ever told him he can't wear shoes :-) Welcome Home, Isaac!

Little Birdie

Our air unit went out... you guessed it, Friday afternoon- right before the holiday. Thankfully, mom and dad have an extra bedroom all ready for daughters to come home when they need to. And thankfully when I called mom at 9 PM to tell her the boys and I were on our way she said "okay".
Our house is not set up for open windows and doors. Yesterday when I returned home to do laundry, repack, etc- I was met by two little birds that had made their way into the house. I suppose they assumed they were invited since the front door was open.
A friend came over to attempt to help me remove the one little guy that wanted to make this his home too. We were not successful- so Eddie Bo came home from work after Jonathan and I had returned to mom's house.
I'm still giggling at his story of how he considered using Isaac's BB gun but decided that wasn't such a good idea. But the Nerf Gun... now that was an idea. So he loaded the bullets and took aim at his target some 20 feet up in the window.
Bull's Eye! He hit the little guy first try. It was enough to knock it out of the window so Eddie could carry it outside. Seems he was no worse off after his adventure. Now to clean up the bird's mess he left behind.....

3 Months Old Today

I'm trying to do better remembering to take Jonathan's monthly photo... still not as good as Sherry. But I did manage to catch a smile.

We took Isaac to camp this weekend. Here's one of the things he is so excited to do... climbing. They do have safety gear, right?

And this is the view from his dormatory. There are two times as many boys as girls this week. He is in a dorm with 8 boys. I'm sure he is having a blast. But I sure am missing him.

Happy Birthday, America

"I believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival," he wrote his wife, Abigail. "It ought to be celebrated by pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other..."

Jonathan looks so tiny next to Brody...
