Really For Real

There's just something about hearing that little racing heartbeat... and then to see a little person "come alive" on an ultrasound screen. Our little "It" is no longer an "It." A Level III (or genetic) ultrasound confirmed Lee Ann's verdict that "it" is a GIRL!

I love this age...

  • I love to watch Jonathan sit in the floor and "read" a pile of books.

  • I love the way he repeats (or tries to repeat) us... "done," "cup," or "that."

  • I love the way he smiles when I walk into the room.

  • I love the way he looks for Isaac and ask for "Is-ick?"

  • I love the way he tries follows me as fast as his little hands and knees will take him jabbering all the way.

  • I love those blue eyes!

  • I love that "look" he has when he knows he is doing something he is not suppose to be doing.

I love you Jonathan Thomas!

Country Livin'

I wouldn't trade living in the country for anywhere else on earth. You just never know what will be waiting for you around the next bend in the road!

While on our way into town one afternoon, we met this as we came around a curve in the road...
Luckily, I had the camera in the truck with us... so Isaac was able to snap some photos of Mr. Turkey as we drove by- finally! He was not concerned at all that I was bigger than him.

Spring Days

Loving these gorgeous spring days!
Finally! Warm weather for fishing!
Except our fishing trip ended up in the ER.

Catching Up

Goodness... I need to do some catching up. A sweet friend came over last night to play with Jonathan while I did some much needed "catching up." What a blessing! Now to catch you up too...
I have wanted for some time to move my herbs out of my little garden into their own space. My plans were just to stick them in the ground... instead Eddie and Isaac made an herb garden for me. How sweet!!

Happy Birthday

Finally! After waiting through an entire season of ice-cream last year, Poppy and Nana were "allowed" to introduce Jonathan to a wonderful thing called ice-cream. Mom had been giving him empty baby cones... but Wow! This one had a spoonful of vanilla ice-cream in it. Surprise!

Ben and "Baby Jonathan" at the Knoxville Zoo. We were so excited when Aunt Sherry made plans to meet us early on JT's birthday.... and at the last minute may I add. I called her around 8 AM while we were on the interstate headed her way. So not like me!

This year has passed very quickly... is our sweet little baby really turning one?

I really do have monkies!

Okay... Aunt Sherry is really "with it" in our book. Not only did she meet us with very short notice- she even brought snacks and treats for everyone: Sprite for Isaac, an organic gala apple for me (my favorite!) and goldfish for Jonathan- his very first.... and he loved them by the way.

Back at home that evening, Jonathan had another first... a birthday cupcake! Complete with red #40. What was I thinking? He loved it!!

Happy Birthday Jon Thomas! You have truly been a "gift from God" to our family. We love you!

In Remembrance

“With fervent desire I have desired to eat this PASSOVER with you before I suffer; for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”
Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said,
“Take this and divide it among yourselves; for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”

And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for YOU.Jonathan getting into mischief during our seder!Matzoh Ball Soup... in the making!

One of the special things about the seder is that almost every dish is symbolic. One of our favorites is the Charoset...mmmm, mmm!

Ultrasound Day

Which one of my boys is the craziest... hum?

Lee Ann has a perfect "sittin spot" outside on the front porch. We took the whole gang with us for our 15 week ultrasound... when we should have been able to hear the baby's heartbeat.
But we never heard it... everyone (including LeeAnn- who did a baby dance)
was too excited about the baby's gender that we forgot all about the heartbeat!
