Signs of Summer

Ok…. So summer isn't really here yet…. But Hay Season is! Isaac just got home last night… actually this morning…. from his trip to Sea Base. And you see what he is doing today! He just spent 6 hours getting the hay hauled. There is just something that says "summer" about the hay fields.

No Tears?

I didn't shed a tear this morning as I watched Isaac leave for Sea Base in the Florida Keys or even when he told me he loves me and apologized for our many arguments!
However, the tears started coming freely when I visited the old Troop 97 Facebook page and saw photos from their last Court of Honor. Those were awesome guys that I have come to miss too. Those were good times that had such a positive impact on our young man.
I pray that not only will Isaac and the other young men in Troop 616 be safe and blessed this week.... But that our Isaac will begin to be the leader he is destined to be, the positive influence he is designed to be, and the lighthearted fun boy that I love so! Have a blast my boy!

Zoo

I promised the kids that after a visit to Jonathan's ophthalmologist, we would make a trip to the zoo. I do believe had more fun than the kids did!

Pondering Success

My sister ask me a question this weekend that I wasn't able to answer. Not being able to provide her with an explanation caused me to ponder the question she posed to me. So how is it that Isaac saw success in an area that he should not have had the possibility of being successful? All afternoon I thought about that.

Well, this morning while having our family Bible study, God provided the answer through the testimony of Mark Hamby of Lamplighter Publishing. While a young man in college, he had a teacher challenge him to do his best and allow God to do the rest.

Yes, I am reminded this morning of how important obedience is to my Father. Just as He expects me to train these children to be obedient, He also expects my unfailing obedience. But ah… how great are the rewards. Besides the intimate, priceless relationship it creates with my Father, His blessings and earthly success are inevitable.

The answer to the question….. "Faithful is He who calls you, who will also do it." He and He alone has blessed our obedience!

Shoe Shopper

The littles and I dashed off to Knoxville last night while the guys were in their Ham Radio class. One of our stops was at Stride Rite for shoes. We have a shoe lover on our hands!!

On second thought

My first reaction when I looked over and saw this on my floorboard was to get angry with a 15 year old young man.

But on closer examination.... I had to smile! What a good representation  of who Isaac is.

Boy scout uniform, empty Arby's fry box, coffee cup, guitar book, and Chet Atkins CD. Yep! That's my boy!

Only a big brother like Isaac would have the determination and patience to save his sister from The Hairbrush. I would have just cut it!
