After a much anticipated visit to the pediatric ophthalmologist, we learned that Jonathan has Accommodative esotropia. He now has a new pair of glasses that are already becoming his dear companion. When we left the office, we were warned that we might have to medicate his eyes in order to get him use to wearing them! They might cause him terrible headaches. He might even get very irritable the first few weeks. Praise the Lord! He had none of those issues. We used velcro to attach his case to his bed where he can put the glasses in a safe place each evening. The very first day he came out of his room with glasses on and ready to conquer the world!

What a dad......
Father's Day
What makes a good dad? All I need do is look at my precious hubby and I can easily answer that question! To love the Lord God with all his heart, soul, and strength......

Lollipop
Eddie has started a routine with the kids of getting lollipops from the "lollipop store" {gas station} on Sunday mornings. They also love to get these from Ms Kathy when we visit Dooley. I just could not resist these half eaten lollipops!

TV + Bedroom = unhealthy kids?
Flipping through "Thriving Family" while eating breakfast, I came across an article about TV.
70% of kids over age 7 have a TV in their bedroom! Not at our house!
"Having a bedroom TV is related to lower amounts of sleep and lower prevalence of regular family meals."
Sure makes me thankful that 21 years ago we decided to keep the TV upstairs and in the basement!
