Latkes

One of Isaac's favorite Hanukkah traditions is... drum roll please...Latkes- which are a traditional Jewish Hanukkah dish. Down south, we just call 'em fried tators. Because the oil miraculously burned for eight days in the temple, oil is an important part of the Hanukkah celebration. For us as believers in Jesus Christ, oil is also important because in scritpure it represents the Holy Spirit. How miraculous to me that Jesus left us with the Holy Spirit who comforts, empowers and fills us as believers. What an awesome gift!
