What is Character? by Bill Gothard
- Character is the inward motivation to do what is right according to the highest standards of behavior in every situation.
- Character consists of the stable and distinctive qualities built into an individual’s life that determine his or her responses, regardless of the circumstances.
- Character is the wise response to the pressure of a difficult situation and what we do when we think that no one is watching. It is the predictor of good behavior.

Fall Cleaning
I don't know what it is- unless it is simply to fact that I love fall. But at our house, we get in the mood for fall cleaning. My sweetheart has spent his afternoon cleaning out from under the house for me! Oh the treasures found. Here's one of them. I'm not sure what year it would have been written... but it is certainly a treasure worth keeping.
Seeking Excellence through the Lord
I reach for spiritual help,
Asking God in all that I do
TO guide my every step.A sacred light upon the path
My Lord has chosen for me,
Illuminates much better than I,
With worldly light could see.It lights the path of righteousness
Through the Valley of Death it shines,
Oh Author of All that is good and pure,
Through Christ's salvation is mine. And with God's help I pray that
Others will always be able to see,
The proper path illuminated,
By the light shining out of me.E. B. Bohannon III

Granny's House
While Isaac and Eddie were away at the Fall Camporee... the little ones and I took a trip to see Granny John. She was so excited to see them!We got to talking about "the home place." I have been by this house for 43 years and never knew this is where Granny grew up! She told me her parents built it when she and Billy (her brother) were small. She lived there until she and Papaw Willie were married. Shortly thereafter, they build their house just next door.

Changes
As I was unpacking and cleaning out bags this morning, I fondly remembered what a boarding pass use to look like.... now you go online and print them yourself [and what happened to getting a ticket?] . Made me miss those rectangular, card stock tickets and boarding passes of yesterday. And to think, we have to pay for our luggage! That always irritates me. Isaac and I packed together this time so we would not have that $25 charge. On our trip home, Larry was bringing back literature. Its weight sent them over the 45 pound limit. Would you believe if we had not had a considerate ticketing lady, the charge would have been something like $90! Crazy! I can't image what travel will be like when the little ones are old enough to travel with us.

Kaizen
Congratulations! Dooley Tractor was awarded the President's Kaizen Award at the 2011 Dealer's Meeting this past weekend in San Antonio.
"The Kaizen Award is presented to elite dealers who demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
The concept of Kaizen originated in Japan as a model for improving the manufacturing process. Kubota has adapted the concept to all levels of their business, from the corporate offices to individual dealerships."
Well Done, Sweetheart!!
San Antonio: Heading Home
Judy, Isaac, and I checked out of our rooms and headed to the lobby to wait for Eddie and Larry to return from the Convention Center. It's hard to believe we stayed in this same hotel last time we were in Texas. Judy is sitting in a chair in the bottom left corner... and Isaac...
Jonathan knew we were flying home [on Jay Jay]. So I took this photo and sent to him via text to tell him we were on our way home. Boy did I miss that little guy.
It's not very often that the three of us are able to sit together on a flight. But I sure do enjoy it when we do. Especially more so than the flight out when I had to sit on the front row [which I hate] with a very large black gentleman.
Things sure have changed from when we first started taking Isaac along on business trips. He and Ms Judy use to play dots, dots, and more dots. Now he investigates the airport recycling trash cans!!
I really tried not to be too obvious... but I was puzzled why this man and his four companions [decked out in all their garb along with "sticks"] would be traveling to Knoxville! I never did figure it out. They did however have people in a white van with commercial tags waiting for them at the airport. My how the world changes every single time we travel.
King Solomon
Isaac and I were looking forward to starting "Hands on Homeschooling"with Jonathan... because we had sooo much fun when he and I did it together.
Jonathan has been learning about praying this month- along with the color orange, circles and saying thank you {which he says thanks}. After Isaac read him the story of King Solomon and even taught him that Solomon was The Psalm Singer's son! {that's what we call King David because of a song we sing}

Exploring
Isaac and I did some Geocaching our first day in San Antonio. He walked my feet off! Then we invited Ms Judy to join us. The next thing we knew we were in well... a section of town that Mom didn't feel too safe. I had ask Isaac how he thought they built the River Walk... well, there went my answer! A little boat with a concrete mixer on it!
San Antonio: 918
When we checked into the Marriott, I ask for a king room with a sofa sleeper. Somehow we have outgrown a standard room. To our surprise, they did not have kings with sofa sleepers. But... we were told the Hospitality Suite was available. I had no idea what a Hospitality Suite was!
On our last day, Isaac figured out the doorbell. Sometimes it would ring... other times it would not. Isaac discovered that one of those light switches at the door turned the bell on and off. Well, what do you know! He said that was so someone wouldn't ring it during the night. Wonder what made him think of that ;-)
